Avenue Opens in Berwyn's Cermak Plaza

BERWYN, IL — Berwyn's Cermak Plaza welcomed a new retailer, Avenue, a plus-size clothing store, at 7003 Cermak Road.

The city of Berwyn and Berwyn Development Corporation celebrated the opening of the retailer with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 29, according to MySuburbanLife.com.

“The opening of Avenue marks the tail end of the revitalization of Cermak Plaza. We are excited to welcome you to Berwyn at the finish line both for your store and for the shopping center," said BDC Board of Directors President Jousef Mondragon in the story.

Cermak Plaza’s Phase III redevelopment project reduced the shopping center’s vacancy rate from 11 percent to full occupancy on the largest retail property in Berwyn, according to the release. In total, Phase III included the opening of a new Ross Dress for Less, new Avenue store and new LongHorn Steakhouse outlot and the redevelopment of the McDonald’s outlot.
