Ruben A. Belarmino

Ruben A. Belarmino, age 77 of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 18, 1948, in the Philippines, the son of the late Andres and Dominica (nee Almonte) Belarmino. He met and married the love of his life Rosario and together they raised their 5 children.

Ruben worked many dedicated years as an Operations Manger and enjoyed retirement.

His life was guided by quiet strength and a generous spirit. Those who knew him will remember his thoughtful nature and his willingness to put others before himself. His family and friends will carry forward the lessons he shared through his example - to love deeply, to give freely, and to meet life’s challenges with intelligence and dignity.

Ruben is survived by his children, Raquel (Jeffrey Yonzon) Belarmino, Rubirosa Pacheco, Ronaldo Belarmino, Raymundo Belarmino and Rafael (Miquila) Belarmino; five grandchildren, Melissa Pacheco, Mario Pacheco, Isabella Belarmino, Gabriella Belarmino, and Benjamin Yonzon and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ella, and Elias; brother, Andrew (Maribel) Belarmino and their children, Jacob and Josh Belarmino; sister-in-law, Luz Belarmino and her children, Jimmy, Michelle, and Scott.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosario Roque; his parents; and brother, Dr. Oscar Belarmino.

Funeral Services for Ruben A. Belarmino will be held at 9:15 a.m., on December 29, 2025, from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL to Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation for Ruben will be held at the funeral home chapel on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m.
