The Spiral/Labyrinth has been a universal symbol that appears throughout history dating some 4,500 years and appears cross-culturally over the face of our world throughout our known history. The spiral and labyrinth have long been used as spiritual tools across cultures and religions, representing the journey of life and the search for meaning. They invite us to slow down, walk with intention, reflect, and encounter the Sacred in our midst.
In many churches, the Advent spiral symbolizes finding light in the darkness because the use of candlelight is key. The room is darkened and the mood is peaceful. It is a reminder that the Light of the World, comes to meet us even in the darkest times, and that we, too, are called to be light bearers for others which allows this time of slowing and stillness to speak to many people no matter where they are on their faith journey or exploration.
Take some time out of busy Sunday and find some calm in the chaos by coming and experiencing our Advent Spiral. The event takes place from 2-7pm.
