Glen Ellyn Ready for a New Police Station
Proposed building would be go up near Panfish Park.

To address prisoner-safety issues, evidence-storage problems and a lack of parking at the Glen Ellyn police station, the village likely will build a new $12-million station near Panfish Park on village-owned land, according to local officials. Village Manager Mark Franz said no tax increase will be required to pay for the new facility. The village will issue bonds. All police operations will move out of the Civic Center at 535 Duane St.
“This building was constructed as a school many, many, many years ago. It was never made to be a police department,” Deputy Chief Bill Holmer said.
The village board has yet to approve the project officially, but the plans are poised to move forward with everyone in agreement.
