The Way We See It — November 4-January 6. Art in the Library welcomes back the talented artists from The Arts of Life, a non-profit Chicago-based art studio with a satellite location in Glenview. The Arts of Life is a creative collaboration in skill development through the arts, operated by artists with developmental disabilities and assisted by staff and volunteers. Promoting self-respect, inspiring artistic expression, building community, and developing independence are the four core values that encourage and motivate these exceptional artists. Deeply influenced by popular culture, which is often their window to the world around them, the exhibit shows how the artists perceive and interpret cultural themes and icons. Their dedication to art as a primary means of expression and way to connect to the world is a true inspiration as we embark on the holiday season.
