Traffic Alert: Construction Continues at Waukegan and Chestnut

The following press release was posted by the village of Glenview:

"The reconstruction of the Waukegan Road and Chestnut Avenue intersection has entered the last major phase. All underground pipe and utililty work has been completed, as have curb and gutter installation.

After grinding the roadway surface, several layers of pavement will be laid, which is expected to reduce traffic to one lane in each direction during the day. Significant traffic backups are anticipated.

Pavement work is expected to be completed by the middle to end of next week, depending on weather conditions.

The intersection is expected to be substantially completed by Thanksgiving. "
