$11K Lost to Credit Card Fraud, Cocaine Arrest, Underage Drinking: Hinsdale Police Blotter

Take a look at what Hinsdale police have been up to for the past week.

The following incidents were taken from the weekly Hinsdale police blotter. Local police remind residents that an arrest doesn't constitute a finding of guilt.

Credit card fraud

  • A Hinsdale resident living on the 100 block of Columbia Avenue reported this week that between Aug. 1 of 2015 and late this December, someone had gathered unauthorized charged on his credit card in the amount of $11,478.18. The case is still pending.

Drugs

  • Dorde Ciric, 42, of Chicago was stopped while driving in the early hours of Dec. 22 for speeding and was then charged with possessing a powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine. Ciric was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Car burglaries

  • Someone entered a resident’s car on the 100 block of N. Clay Street between 9:45 p.m. Dec. 20 and 8:10 a.m. Dec. 21 to steal a briefcase, laptop, blank checks and credit cards from the vehicle. Police are still investigating the incident, and didn’t specify whether or not the resident’s vehicle was locked at the time.

Car theft

  • A resident on the 500 block of Justina Street told police that between 1:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. Dec. 21, someone stole his Infiniti Q35 from his driveway. The resident said the car was unlocked and his keys were in it, according to police. It also appeared as though the thief looked through three other cars parked in the man’s driveway but nothing was reported stolen from the other vehicles.

Identity theft

  • A resident reported Dec. 22 that in mid-October, someone had apparently opened a cell phone account in their name. The case is still pending.

Underage drinking

  • Police arrested a 17-year-old girl around 11 p.m. Dec. 23 for drinking underage on the 900 block of S. Madison Street. Officers arrived on the scene expecting an unconscious subject, but the girl was conscious when they got there.
