Arrest Made In Hinsdale Neighbor Dispute: Police

In another case, a woman was a victim of a scam involving an antivirus alert and gift cards, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – In recent days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving a neighbor dispute, a gift card scam and DUIs. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Neighbor dispute

  • Police were called to a neighbor dispute about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of North Bruner Street. A 60-year-old Hinsdale woman who lives in the 800 block of West North Street was arrested on a DuPage County warrant. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. On Sept. 5, the same woman was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass to a residence in the 400 block of North Quincy Street, which is in her neighborhood.

  • A resident in the 10 block of South Bodin Street told police Sept 8 that she received an antivirus warning on her tablet late last month. It advised her to call a number. A suspect answered the phone, directing the resident to buy a gift card and deposit money into a bitcoin ATM. The case is pending.

DUI

  • Lawrence J. Crowder, 47, of Joliet, was arrested about 8 p.m. Sept. 10 in the 200 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of felony aggravated DUI, felony driving with a revoked license, improper lane use, speeding and driving an uninsured car. He submitted to testing that indicated he was above the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 25-year-old Lyons man was arrested about 7 a.m. Friday at Ogden Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, and transportation of open alcohol by a driver. Police said they were called about the man sleeping behind the wheel on the road's shoulder. He submitted to testing that indicated he was above the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 36-year-old Chicago Ridge woman was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of West 55th Street on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, failure to signal when changing lanes and improper lane use. She refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
