Bond Set at $200,000 for Man Accused of Robbing Hinsdale Gas Station

The robbery took place Dec. 3.

Bond has been set for the man who allegedly robbed a Hinsdale gas station late last week, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced Tuesday.

Bond has been set at $200,000 with 10 percent to apply.

Milan Crnovich, 24, was arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place around 1 a.m. Dec. 3 at a Mobile gas station on W. Chicago Ave. in Hinsdale. When Crnovich reportedly arrived, the station clerk was outside, and once the clerk went back into the station, Crnovich allegedly handed him a note with “gun” written on it and then showed him a silver gun.

The clerk allegedly said he gave Crnovich $180 in cash before Crnovich fled on foot. He reported the incident to the Hinsdale police, and called them again when Crnovich returned the next day. Hinsdale police reportedly found Crnovich about a block away from the gas station, and he told them he was looking for his backpack.

When police offered to help Crnovich find his backpack, they allegedly found a white ski mask and jacket — both of which matched surveillance footage from the gas station the night before — and found a silver airsoft pistol in his waistband during a pat-down. He was arrested without struggle and charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

“The allegations in this case — accosting a man at gunpoint who is just trying to make an honest living — are extremely serious and will be met with the full force of the law,” Berlin said in a release.

Crnovich is next expected in court Dec 20, where Judge John Kinsella will preside.
