How did the business come to be?

My wife, Chrys, and I bought the Village Cellar in October 2012.

Why did you choose the area you did?

Hinsdale is just a beautiful town with many residents who enjoy great wines.

What does your business offer?

The Village Cellar is a wine and beer bar and retail boutique. We have two on staff sommeliers along with a former culinary school teacher to help customers hand select wines for every occasion.

What’s a fact about your business that most customers probably don’t know?

We are the only store in Illinois selling Tomas Fogarty wines and we can special order a case or half case of any wine sold in Illinois.

What’s your most popular product?

Wine School on Thursday nights provides the best entertainment in Hinsdale. After a complementary pour of sparkling wine, Eoin O'Donnell, our head sommelier, leads students through the discovery of six separate wines which our manager Bryan Blinstrup pairs with 5 cheeses and a final pairing with a chocolate truffle found no where else.
