DuPage Sheriff's Office Creates 'Mannequin' Video to Illustrate Domestic Violence

In DuPage County, between 300 and 350 incidents of domestic violence occurs each month.

NAPERVILLE, IL — In an effort to bring awareness to domestic violence, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office has created its own “mannequin” video highlighting the effects of domestic violence.

Domestic violence typically increases around the holidays, according to the DCSO. In DuPage County, between 300 and 350 incidents of domestic violence occurs each month. However, many cases are never reported in the first place.

Between July 2013 and June 2014, there were 84 domestic-related deaths in Illinois. 15 of them were children, according to the sheriff’s office.
“Abuse occurs in all races, economic classes and educational levels,” the sheriff’s office said in its YouTube video.
