Hinsdale Central Students Collecting School Supplies for Tornado Victims
School supplies collected Monday and Tuesday will go to Washington Community High School over Thanksgiving weekend.

Hinsdale Central students will be outside the school's pool and main entrance doors Monday and Tuesday collecting school supplies for high school students in tornado-ravaged Washington, IL, according to an email from family and consumer sciences teacher Dawn A. Oler sent to Patch by District 86 communications director Kristine Liptrot.
Oler's email reads:
An estimated 1,000 homes sustained damage during the tornados that hit Washington, Illinois, [on Nov. 17]. Future Educators of America and Students Assisting Students clubs have been working with Schools Count Corp. to determine how we could best assist the students of that community. Washington Community High School has expressed a need for backpacks, spiral notebooks, folders, pencils and various school supplies. These items were in the students homes when they were destroyed. On Monday and Tuesday ... students will be outside the pool doors and the main entrance collecting donations of these items. They will be delivered to Washington High during the Thanksgiving holiday. Brighten the holidays by helping fellow students and pick up some supplies to donate this weekend!
