Couple Killed In Crash Leave Behind 5 Children: Obituary
The parents were described as "pillars of their community" and "strong, fearless role models."
HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale husband and wife who were killed in a crash Friday had five children, according to their obituary.
The children of Brett Allen Lane, 51, and Melissa Ann Lane, 49, were Simon, Colin, Quinten, Emily and James Lane.
Brett and Melissa Lane spent the majority of their life in Hinsdale, their obituary said.

They met while attending graduate school at Northwestern University, studying engineering. He pursued a career in engineering and product management. He was the chief technology officer at Panduit Corp.
"Brett and Melissa Lane were pillars of their community," the obituary said. "Strong, fearless role models that touched the hearts of many. Brett had an infectious spirit, a love of innovation, and an unwavering work ethic. Melissa was a positive beacon of life and hope, always lifting up those around her."

The obituary said Brett Lane enjoyed racing cars, golfing, photography and cheering his alma mater, the University of Texas. She liked to golf, read, take part in her prayer group and relax on the beach in Florida.
