Hinsdale Police Reports: Car Theft, Underage Drinking, Car Burglary
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through June 7.

Michael J Collins, 25 of the 6800 block of Caitlin Court in Willowbrook, was stopped June 5 for failure to signal when required at Washington and 8th streets. Collins was observed to be under the influence of alcohol, and he submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. An open container of alcohol was located in the car along with a green leafy substance that field tested positive for cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Collins was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to signal when required, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and released to appear in court.
A 17-year-old boy of Oak Brook was stopped June 6 for speeding 82 mph in a 55 mph zone and driving on the shoulder of Route 83 at Laurel Lane and Knollwood Road. The boy did not have a valid driver’s license. He was in possession of wax paper with a brown substance suspected to be cannabis. He was charged with speeding, improper driving on shoulder and no valid driver's license and released to a parent.

Police contacted a 17-year-old boy of Oak Brook on June 7 who was walking at County Line Road and Woodland Avenue. He was seen to be under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a person under 21 and released to a parent.
Someone reported an electric cord was cut and tools valued at approximately $220 were stolen between May 1 and 31 from her yard in the 900 block of S Grant Street.

Someone used the victim’s bank information to withdraw a total of $7,600 from a bank account between May 13 and June 4. The thief also tried to open credit cards at Best Buy, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Fifth Third Bank using the victim’s information.
Someone entered an unlocked car between June 2 and 3 and stole two phone charges valued at $40 and loose change while it was parked in her driveway in the 100 block of S Park Avenue.
Christopher J Horstman, 42 of the 5600 block of S Oak Street in Hinsdale, was stopped June 1 after a check of registration indicated the owner had a suspended driver’s license in the 5900 block of S County Line Road. Horstman was charged with driving while license suspended and released to appear in court.
Someone stole an inflatable swimming pool valued at $59.99 June 1 from a business in the 0-100 block of Grant Square.
Someone used a victim’s credit card information between May 27 and 31 to make two fraudulent transactions totaling $488.
A 2015 Honda Pilot was reported stolen from a driveway between June 6 and 7 in the 700 block of N Elm Street. The owner said he locked the car when after he parked in his driveway and no keys were left inside.
