Hinsdale Police Reports: Drag Racing, Car Theft, DUI
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through May 31.

Paul J Bulthuis, 31 of the 5200 block of Fair Elms in Western Springs, and David J Hill, 59 of the 1200 block of Hawthorne Lane in Hinsdale, were arrested May 22 and each charged with street racing and speeding more than 35 mph over the speed limit. They were seen speeding around 7:23 p.m. at Ogden Avenue and Vine Street. They acknowledge to police they were racing each other. They were charged and released to appear in court.
Someone stole a pair of sunglasses valued at $450 between May 24 and 25 from a car in the 600 block of S Bruner Street. There were no signs of forced entry, and the car's windows were left down.

Andrew B Spiegel, 66 of the 800 block of Wilson Lane in Hinsdale, was arrested May 25 and charged with driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was stopped around 7:25 p.m. at Monroe Street and Ogden Avenue. He was charged and released to appear in court.
Someone changed account information May 26 on a victim’s cable provider. The person made three fraudulent charges totaling $450. The victim received a phone call to confirm a $5,000 purchase of fine jewelry from Macy’s, and he declined the order before it went through.

A woman reported her car missing May 26 after she parked it legally in a parking space on 1st Street at Lincoln Street. On May 27 at 8:50 a.m., police were dispatched to a suspicious/abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of south Clay Street. A witness saw someone park the car and leave the area on foot. No damage was reported and nothing was reported missing from the car.
A man reported his car was stolen between May 25 and 26 from his driveway in the 700 block of McKinley Lane. The car was unlocked and the keys were left inside. The owner's wallet was inside the car. The car is a silver 2014 Mercedes S550 valued at $70,000.
Someone stole a bicycle valued at $600 May 27 from outside of the victim’s garage door in the 200 block of W. 7th Street.
Someone stole an unlocked bicycle valued at $559.99 May 27 from a bike rack in the 0-100 block of Grand Square.
Someone reported six pieces of fine china valued at approximately $3,000 missing from her home between May 23 and June 1 during a restoration project in the 700 block of S. Bruner Street.
Someone damaged bowls inside of the fountain at Burlington Park between May 28 and 29.
Cristian Camacho, 25 of the 4500 block of S Sawyer in Chicago, was arrested May 29 and charged with DUI and speeding. Camacho was stopped around 1:41 a.m. for speeding at 55th and Quincy streets, and he was seen to be under the influence of alcohol. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was charged and released to appear in court.
Joel LChiappetta, 43 of the 200 block of Burlington Avenue in Clarendon Hills, was arrested May 30 and charged with DUI, speeding an improper lane use. He was stopped around 1:59 a.m. for speeding and improper lane use at Prospect Avenue and 55th Street. He was seen to be under the influence of alcohol, and he submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was charged and released to appear in court.
John M Buczkowski, 19 of the 600 block of S Grant Street, and Adam P Marsh, 18 of the 200 block of Coe Road in Clarendon Hills, were each arrested and charged with unlawful use of alcohol by person under 21. Buczkowski was charged April 3 and Marsh was charged May 29. Police were dispatched to a report of a screaming woman at Madison Street and Morris Lane. Both were seen to be under the influence of alcohol.
