Hinsdale Police Reports: Hit and Run, Theft, Underage Drinking
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through June 21.

Someone used a victim’s identity to open nine fraudulent accounts between June 9 and 15. Accounts were opened at AT&T, T-Mobile with fraudulent charges totaling $3,354.93, Macy’s, Verizon with three iPhones with phone lines activated, Sprint with an attempt to open 10 phone lines that did not go through, SyncB/Guitar Center, Comenity/Express, Victoria’s Secret, and Kohl’s with fraudulent charges totaling $1,000.
Someone stole a bicycle between June 12 and 15 valued at $239.99 from a detached garage in the 100 blockof Maumell Street. There were no signs of forced entry to the garage.

Someone sent text messages and phone calls of a harassing nature between June 13 and 16.
A set of diamond earrings valued at $15,000 were reported missing from a home in the 200 block of N Clay Street between May 24 and June 16. The owner of the earrings had workers at her house during the time the earrings went missing.

Police were sent to a report of a hit and run June 17 at Ogden Avenue and Lincoln Street. Tanisha A Smith, 29 of the 1000 block of N Lavergne in Chicago, was found in the 400 block of west North Street and identified as a suspect. Smith was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage crash, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and failure to report a crash to police and released to appear in court.
Someone stole construction materials valued at $1,000 between June 16 and 17 in the 10 block of E Ogden Avenue. Materials were left unsecured in the parking lot of the job site.
Someone reported his wallet was stolen June 19 while he was at a swimming pool in the 500 block of W Hinsdale Avenue.
Police were sent to a report of a person passed out in the parkway June 19 at Ogden Avenue and Elm Street. Police found a 17-year-old Hinsdale boy, who was seen to be under the influence of alcohol. The boy was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a person under 21 and released to a family member.
A neighbor reported an open window June 20 with no screen at her neighbor’s house in the 200 block of S Adams Street. Three lock boxes were found on the floor, one was open with papers unorganized on the floor. A kitchen door that is not used was found with the deadbolt open.
