Hinsdale Sees Fall In Virus Cases: Agencies
Clarendon Hills experiences one more coronavirus death in the last week.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale saw a drop in coronavirus cases in the last week, while Clarendon Hills experienced a slight increase, according to county health agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 3,217 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 14 in the last week. The previous week, the village recorded 26 new cases.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 1,815 coronavirus cases, up 19 in the last week. The week before, the village experienced 18 cases.

Hinsdale's coronavirus deaths stayed the same in the last week, with the total at 64 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths increased by one in the last week, to 18.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 182 coronavirus cases per thousand people since the pandemic's beginning. The figure compares to 169 in Darien, 191 in DuPage County, 200 in Elmhurst, 204 in suburban Cook County, 207 in Clarendon Hills and La Grange Park, 212 in Western Springs and 215 in La Grange.
As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 3,026,737, a 0.1 percent increase from the previous week, according to the state Department of Public Health. The number of confirmed deaths so far is 32,654.
Nationally, 78.7 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported, a 0.6 percent increase from the previous week, according to the Centers for Disease Control. A total of 944,517 people have died from the virus in the United States.
