La Grange Park Home Addition Wins 2 Design Awards

A home addition to a California Ranch style house in La Grange Park recently won a Regional Chrysalis award as well as a Remodeling Excellence Award by NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) Greater Chicago. The addition was created by Normandy Remodeling Design Manager Troy Pavelka who has received a dozen design awards in total, including 2 Chrysalis Awards and 7 Remodeling Excellence Awards.

The renovation included a master suite addition, kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, and other interior renovations. Careful attention to consistency for the home’s exterior and the homeowner’s desire for an open floor plan on the interior led Pavelka to a solution that achieved all of the homeowner’s objectives.

“By expanding the ranch style home with a master suite addition and reconfiguring the layout, we were able to achieve the open concept design” says Pavelka. “We used a brick matching technique to seamlessly blend the existing materials, and this addition gave us the space we needed to open up the living space.”

The addition and whole home renovation received accolades for the overall design, creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
