Police declined to provide additional details about the incident Wednesday beyond the age and gender of the person killed.

Hinsdale police declined to divulge details Wednesday afternoon about a Tuesday Amtrak vs. pedestrian incident near the West Hinsdale train depot, but they did provide the age and gender of the person killed on the tracks.
The individual was a 55-year-0ld Darien man, said Hinsdale deputy chief Thomas Yehl. He was reportedly trespassing on the rails when he was struck around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday by the eastbound locomotive, which was scheduled to arrive shortly afterward to Chicago's Union Station. The man was pronounced dead on the scene and his family was notified on Tuesday evening.
Yehl said Wednesday that he could not comment on the ongoing investigation. Rather, he pointed reporters to a press release for additional information.
