Alan R. Hertz

Alan R. Hertz, 64, of Huntley, formerly of Palatine, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2012 after a long illness.  He was born March 27, 1948 in Norwalk, Connecticut.

His family was the focus of his life. Pam, his loving wife, was the rock in his life. Always at his side, through the good times and bumps along the road.  Along with his daughter and granddaughter, and his extended family, he felt he was very blessed and complete.

Alan would like to take this opportunity to thank his family, his entire extended family, and his many friends for their support and prayers during his ordeal.  They were all well received and very much appreciated.

He was a licensed funeral director, having worked in the field for the past 35 years.  He was also a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam Conflict, during the 1960’s.  He was fortunate to have spent his entire tour of duty, being assigned to the American Forces Network Radio Station in Frankfurt, Germany.  He was discharged in Europe and continued to travel throughout Europe before returning home.

Golf was his outside passion and he had the opportunity to play all over the country.  He will truly miss his Wednesday morning foursome.  He and Pam have had many opportunities to travel, both within the boundaries of this country and that of Europe, becoming one of the highlights of their lives.
