Jean attended Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago and enjoyed many facets of nursing, but found her passion in school nursing and worked at Wheeling High School for over 15 years. She raised her family in Buffalo Grove before retiring to Huntley. She was always willing to give her time, her attention and her gifts to those around her. She and Marty didn't miss their grandchildren's hockey games, piano recitals, baseball games, gymnastics meets or soccer games. She never refused a request to help her children, whether it was with gentle guidance, parenting tips or emergency babysitting.
She leaves behind an immediate family that will miss her dearly: her husband, Mario A.; her children, Mario J. and Cynara; their spouses Debbie (Minick) and Todd Pierzina, who she welcomed into her family graciously; six grandchildren who she spoiled shamelessly and showered with love; and her brother, Richard Johnson (Delores).
