Baby May is Diaper Dash Champ

Baby wins race by crawling straight to Mom.

Among the many new events at this year's Algonquin Founders' Days was the first-ever Diaper Dash.

Open to crawlers - no walkers permitted - the Diaper Dash was hosted by Rogy’s Learning Place, 4099 W. Algonquin, to discover which little bundle of joy is the fastest crawler in town.

It was a bit of an upset Sunday when two Algonquin infants were beaten in the race by an out-of-town brunette babe, May, of Arlington Heights.

To be fair, 9-month-old Calvin, quickly grabbed the lead, but he paused for a moment to glance behind him, giving 11-month-old May the perfect opportunity to sneak ahead.

Little 12-month-old Charles may never have actually made it to the finish line, but he was all smiles and appeared to be having a good time amid the cheers and clapping.

All three contestants went home with onesies inscribed with "Diaper Dash" on the bottom and baby-sized prizes, courtesy of Rogy's.
