The new $3.2 million clinic, named the Sage Center for Care, will be located at 401 Congress Parkway, near the Metra train station.

Sage Center for Care is designed to meet the growing needs of the uninsured in the county. Using figures from a 2011 Urban Institute study, McHenry County is projected to have an estimated 20,000 still uninsured even after the Affordable Care Act is fully implemented, down from an estimated 40,000 today.

The clinic will have 9,200 square feet, almost double the clinic’s current space in Woodstock.  Plans call for 12 exam rooms, electronic medical records, and an improved patient flow throughout the space.  The clinic will also be designed to meet LEED certification, a designation that focuses on energy efficiency and a reduced energy footprint which will save dollars and provide a healthier environment for patients, volunteers and staff.

“Sage Products is proud to be an integral part of this project,” said Scott Brown, President and COO of Sage Products, Cary and chair of the Capital Campaign Committee. “This new clinic is an example of the strong partnership between Sage and the community, and provides needed services with dignity and clinical excellence.  As a leader in the healthcare industry, we look for opportunities to support projects that benefit the health of the communities where we work and live.”

The clinic will continue to offer a full range of primary care services, using volunteer physicians from every health system in the county, as well as a dedicated staff and other volunteers.

“The Family Health Partnership Clinic has been serving the uninsured of the county for over 16 years.  As Medical Director, I have seen our community step up to meet this growing need and I am proud to be involved with this significant project,” Dr. James Mowery, the Clinic’s Medical Director said.
