Family Health Partnership Clinic Plan Expansion

Family Health Partnership Clinic announced it plans to start construction on a new clinic in Crystal Lake that will further its mission to serve the uninsured and underinsured of McHenry County, officials said this week.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us,” said Kevin Noonan, Chair of the Clinic Board of Directors. “This expansion will allow us to better fulfill our mission of providing affordable, accessible health care to all in McHenry County.”

The new $3.2 million clinic, named the Sage Center for Care, will be located at 401 Congress Parkway, near the Metra train station.

Sage Center for Care is designed to meet the growing needs of the uninsured in the county. Using figures from a 2011 Urban Institute study, McHenry County is projected to have an estimated 20,000 still uninsured even after the Affordable Care Act is fully implemented, down from an estimated 40,000 today.

The clinic will have 9,200 square feet, almost double the clinic’s current space in Woodstock.  Plans call for 12 exam rooms, electronic medical records, and an improved patient flow throughout the space.  The clinic will also be designed to meet LEED certification, a designation that focuses on energy efficiency and a reduced energy footprint which will save dollars and provide a healthier environment for patients, volunteers and staff.

The clinic will continue to offer a full range of primary care services, using volunteer physicians from every health system in the county, as well as a dedicated staff and other volunteers.
