Huntley Submits ‘Wish List’ of Road Projects
Village submitting projects for 2015-2017 fiscal years to McHenry County Council of Mayors.

The village is submitting a sort of ‘wish list’ of projects to the McHenry County Council of Mayors for review and ranking to be considered for federal funding.

Projects must meet certain requirements including must be an eligible Federal Aid Urban route, must be funded for the local share which is 20 percent and must be planned for federal fiscal years 2015, 2016 or 2017, according to village staff.
The council was created and authorized by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning Policy Committee for the purposes of providing input into the region's transportation policy decision and establishing priorites for road projects, according to its website.

Huntley is seeking federal funding for five proposed projects:
Reed Road
An extension from Talamore west to Coyne Station Road
Local share: $2,140,890
Federal share: $1,500,000
Total cost: $3,640,890
Kreutzer Road
Resurfacing from eastern village limits to the Union Pacific Railroad
Local share: $163,350
Federal share: $532,400
Total cost: $695,750
Haligus Road
Resurfacing from Kreutzer Road north to Algonquin Road
Local share: $125,550
Federal share: $409,200
Total cost: $534,750
Main Street
Resurfacing from Church Street to Haligus Road
Local share: $89,100
Federal share: $290,400
Total cost : $379,500
Del Webb Blvd.
Resurfacing from Route 47 west to Hemmer Road
Local share: $259,875
Federal share: $847,000
Total cost: $1,106,875
If the applications are successful, the village will budget for each project in the appropriate fiscal year, staff said.
Huntley trustees voted unanimously to submit the projects to McHenry County Council of Mayors, which will rank all applications received.
