Cake Walk Will Raise Funds For Chicago Free School

A "Piece of Cake" fundraiser on Saturday will raise money for the Chicago Free School.

CHICAGO, IL - A fundraiser planned for Saturday will raise money for the Chicago Free School in Hyde Park. The event, dubbed a "Piece of Cake" fundraiser, will run from 3-5 p.m. on June 2 in the KAM II building at the school located at 1100 E. Hyde Park Blvd.

Attendees will donate cakes, cupcakes or cake pops or buy someone else's creation, according to an E-vite page on the event. Tickets for an auction to be held at the event will be $5.

There will be a “Cake Walk” (think musical chairs, but the last one standing - or sitting - wins a cake), refreshments and plenty of parents and teachers on hand to answer questions.

Funds raised will help support the philosophy of the Chicago Free School, which is to provide students an environment where they are free to choose what they want to learn and how they want to learn it.

If you're available to donate a baked good or volunteer to have your child make something please talk to or email Ms. DeeAnn at ddbeans1@yahoo.com.
