Manuel de Falla’s Ritual Fire Dance, influenced by the traditional religious ceremony of the fire dance, and Edward Elgar’s Elegy, written to commemorate loss and infused with the expression of grief, are featured on the program. Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor, showcasing the composer’s darker and stronger emotions, rounds out the performance.
