2 Charged With Stabbing Woman In Her Zion Home, Authorities Say
Rachel Hope and Tywain Rogers face attempted murder charges in connection to an attack at the woman's home early Monday morning.

ZION, IL — Two people have been charged with attempted murder after a Zion woman they were living with was found attacked and stabbed multiple times Monday morning, police said.
Rachel Hope, 46, and Tywain Rogers, 43, both of Zion, are charged in connection with an attack at the woman's home in the 2900 block of Gabriel Avenue.
Police said the 59-year-old woman who was attacked knew both Hope and Rogers and was allowing them to stay on the second floor of her home for a while.

The woman told authorities Hope and Rogers were responsible for her wounds as police were taking her to the hospital for emergency surgery, officials said.
While authorities have not said why the woman was attacked and stabbed, they did say police were able to interview the 59-year-old again after her surgery for additional information before charging Hope and Rogers.

Earlier: Woman, 59, In Serious Condition After Stabbing Monday Morning
The attack took place on Monday at around 1:40 a.m. Police told reporters they received reports of a stabbing and arrived on the scene to find a woman with multiple wounds.
Police said they saw two people running into an alley near the home and they were detained after police said they saw there was blood on their hands and clothing.
In addition to the attempted murder charges, both Hope and Rogers were also charged with aggravated battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
On Tuesday, they were both ordered held Tuesday at Lake County Jail in lieu of the $100,000 cash portion of their bail. They are scheduled to reappear in court on Nov. 2.
