2 Hospitalized After Semi Drives On Top Of Car On I-94
A semi-tractor-trailer struck a center median and came to rest on top of a passenger vehicle, according to Lake Forest authorities.
LAKE FOREST, IL — Two people were hospitalized after a crash between a semi-tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle on Interstate 94 on Monday.
The Lake Forest Fire Department received a report of the crash at around 4:30 p.m. While en route to the crash, a Deerfield officer who was already on scene told the fire department there were people trapped in the car.
According to authorities, the trailer had struck the center median wall, lost control and came to rest on top of the passenger vehicle. When the fire department arrived, they found all occupants had either self-extricated or were assisted from the vehicle by bystanders.

Paramedics transported two people, who were in stable condition, to nearby hospitals for treatment. Another person was treated and released on scene.
Fire crews worked to stabilize the scene and mitigate a minor diesel fuel leak from the trailer. The scene was later turned over to the Illinois State Police.
