Deer Path Inn Ranked 66th Best Hotel In World, No. 1 Midwest Resort Hotel For 2024

LAKE FOREST, IL — The Deer Path Inn has been named the best resort hotel in the Midwest in Travel and Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Awards.

Marking the fifth time the inn has taken the top spot in the magazine's survey of readers, the honor comes as its operators mark its 95th anniversary in downtown Lake Forest.

Travel and Leisure also ranked the Deer Path Inn as the 6th best resort in the continental United States and the 66th best hotel in the world.

Last year, it was the runner-up among Midwest resorts, coming in behind Hotel Walloon in Walloon Lake, Michigan.

The five-star inn’s consistent high scores reflect its outstanding service, thoughtfully curated packages and personalized guest experiences.

One respondent to the magazine's survey, which was completed by more than 186,000 readers said, "the Deer Path Inn makes guest[s] feel like they are visiting the fine home of a British relative," according to Travel and Leisure.

"In addition to providing a feel that’s unlike any other Midwest property on this list, [Travel and Leisure] readers raved about the service, calling it 'superb,' 'terrific,' and 'gracious.'"

The inn was described as a popular place for birthday or anniversary celebrations, plus it can function as a "surprisingly accessible" home base for visitors looking to spend their days in Chicago.

To celebrate its 95th anniversary and its recent accolades, the Deer Path Inn is offering a special “Travel + Leisure World’s Best Winner 2024” package through Sept. 30.

The package includes a complimentary welcome gift and a bottle of sparkling wine for those who book a stay at the hotel before the end of the year.

The 57-room boutique English-style hotel was established in 1929 and is now owned by a subsidiary of Abbott Labs.
