Lake Bluff Police Blotter: Animal Complaint, Fire Call, Fleeing and Eluding

The latest incident reports from the Lake Bluff Police Department.

The following information is from the Lake Bluff Police Department’s incident reports. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Assist Fire

Officer responded on Jan. 16 to the 400 block of Park Lane on for a fire alarm going off for unknown reasons. Lake Bluff and Knollwood Fire Departments arrived on scene, no irregularities observed. No further assistance required and officer cleared.

Assist Public Works

Officer responded on Jan. 16 to the central business district for a report of unknown lights not working. Upon arrival, officer observed all street gas lamps on E. Center Ave, and on E. Scranton west of E. Center were not activated. No gas smell was observed. Public Works and the complainant notified.

Alarm Business

Officers responded Jan. 16 to the Lake Bluff Golf course for an activated burglar alarm. Officers arrived on scene and checked the exterior of the building finding it to be secure with no irregularities. A keyholder was notified and will not be responding. Officers cleared to resume patrol.

Officers responded Jan. 16 to the 200 block of S. Waukegan Road for an activated burglar alarm. Officers checked the exterior and found it secure. The alarm company advised a keyholder would only respond if needed. Officers observed no irregularities and cleared.

Public Health and Safety

Officer responded Jan. 15 to the area of Route 41 at Knauz for a report of a bag in the roadway. Officer arrived on scene and located the bag and removed it from the roadway. Officer cleared.

Officer responded Jan. 15 to East Sheridan Place and Evanston Avenue for report of a trailer parked to close to the intersection. Officer spoke with a representative of the company and they will move the trailer as soon as possible.

Animal Complaint

Officer observed on Jan. 15 a white in color and a black in color dog following three subjects near the front of the PSB. The subjects stated the dogs below to a residence somewhere on East Washington Avenue. Officer followed the dogs to a home on East Washington Avenue. Officer could not reach the homeowner. A neighbor contacted the homeowner who requested the dogs be put back inside the residence. The homeowner did not want the residence checked. Someone was reportedly on location sleeping. Officer cleared.

Fire Call

Officer responded Jan. 14 to the area of Landsdowne Lane for a report from a resident in the area advising they saw flames coming from a house under construction. Officer arrived on scene and located a dumpster on fire. The fire was determined to be contained in the dumpster and was away from the house that is currently vacant. The Lake Bluff Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. Officer stood by until advised by incident command that no further assistance would be needed.

Motorist Assist

Officer responded Jan. 14 to the 900 block of North Shore Drive for a report of a tractor trailer stuck in while attempting to make a turn. Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the truck driver who refused to try and move the vehicle because he stated that he had only been working for the company for two weeks. Officer had dispatch notified a towing service. The tow arrived on scene and was able to remove the trailer from the snow bank. No other assistance was needed and officer cleared to resume patrol.

Fleeing and Eluding

Officer conducted a traffic stop Jan. 14 on Green Bay Road north of Warrington Drive for multiple traffic violations. The vehicle and driver matched a description provided sent out by Lake County Sheriff’s Office on 01-13-2016 for burglary. Officer contacted LCSO and a deputy responded to the scene. The driver fled northbound on Green Bay Road from the scene after refusing to exit the vehicle. A warrant has been issued for the suspect’s arrest.

Dispute|False ID|Alcohol Violation

Officers responded Jan 11 to the 300 block of East Woodland Road for the report of an unconscious subject, not exiting an Uber vehicle after fare was paid. Upon arrival, officers were unable to wake the subject and requested an ambulance for medical evaluation. Lake Bluff Fire Department responded and Lake Forest Ambulance 421 transported the subject to Lake Forest Hospital. The subject was cited for possession of a false identification card and unlawful consumption.
