Lake Forest Obituary: Elizabeth "Betty" Calahan, 97

Elizabeth “Betty” I. Calahan, 97, of Lake Forest died on September 5, 2014.

Betty loved her books, crossword puzzles and was deeply connected to her family history with lots of stories to share. She enjoyed nothing more than a good conversation and sharing laughs with her friends. She spent many years as a volunteer at her local hospital. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Wife of the late Robert E. Calahan (1997); cherished mother of the late Robert Perry Calahan (1994); Barbara (Edward) Brown and Joan (Kevin) Shannahan; beloved grandmother of Stephanie Elizabeth and Eric Brown, Ryan, Mark, Connor and Kyle Shannahan; sister of the late Jean Gooley; aunt of Jan Gooley, John M. Calahan and the late Jay Gooley.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to her dear friends and caring staff at Lake Forest Place and her special girls Fay, Terry and Christine.
