Lake Forest Obituary: Henry Norcross Adamson, 65

He died suddenly as a result of a fall at his home.

Henry Norcross Adamson, 65, of Lake Forest died suddenly, as the result of a fall at home, on September 3, 2014. Born May 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Emily Dyas Norcross Adamson and the late Gordon Adamson. He is survived by his sister, Katharine J. (Kate) Adamson, her husband, David H. Kraemer, of New Canaan, CT, and his niece Emily D. Kraemer of Norwalk, CT and his nephew Paul A. Kraemer of Boulder, CO.

Mr. Adamson was a graduate of The Hill School, Pottstown, PA and attended Boston University. He was a lifelong lover of dogs, music, particularly classical music, books, the water, good food, good wine, and good conversation. He was a member of The Caxton Club of Chicago. Antique boats and cars were a passion for him. He was a founding member of The Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association, for many years editor of the award winning VSCDA Newsletter, and often the announcer at VSCDA events. He was an active member of the Vintage Sports Car Club. His voluminous knowledge of antique cars educated at least a generation of fans.

Mr. Adamson dealt with the loss of his vision with incredible grace and dignity, providing a model for all who knew him. His sense of humor is legendary, and will be long remembered.

A funeral service will be held at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 400 East Westminster Road, Lake Forest, IL on Wednesday, September 10 at 11 AM. Interment will be private.
