No One Injured During House Fire In The Ponds Subdivision

Firefighters took 20 minutes to put out the overnight blaze near Westleigh and U.S. 41 in Lake Forest.

LAKE FOREST, IL — Firefighters took 20 minutes to put out a roof fire that broke out at a home in the Ponds subdivision near Westleigh Road and U.S. 41 early Sunday morning, according to Eric Globerger, battalion chief for the Lake Forest Fire Department.

Lake Forest police officers helped the occupants of the home outside as firefighters were putting out the fire that was spotted from the roof of the single-family home in an "aggressive fire attack" that was called in at 3:07 a.m.

No one was injured in the blaze, which investigators have said caused about $30,000 worth of damage.

Fire crews in nearby Lake Bluff, Wheeling and Mundelein were called to cover any other calls that came in from Lake Forest while the LFFD was working to put out the house fire.
