Sports Broadcaster Who Played For Chicago Bears Sells Lake Forest Home
Former Chicago Bears wide receiver Tom Waddle sold property for nearly $1 million more than what he paid for it seven years ago.

LAKE FOREST, IL — Former Chicago Bears wide receiver and current sports broadcaster Tom Waddle sold his Lake Forest house Monday for $3.1 million.
The five-bedroom, mansion was built in 2002 on a 1.82 acre lot across Old Mill Road from Heller Park, according to its listing.
It features a brick and limestone exterior, an in-ground pool with spa, a grand foyer with a double staircase and chandelier, a circular drive with a fountain and a finished third floor.

With nearly 8,000 square feet of living space and great access to parks and preserves, the estate "offers privacy, luxury and convenience," its listing said.
Waddle and his wife, Cara, purchased the property in 2015 for $2.15 million, according to Lake County Clerk records. They listed the house for sale on April 5 with a $3.25 million asking price and received an offer within a week.

An Ohio native, Waddle spent his entire six-year NFL career with the Bears, starting in 1989. He retired after the 1994 season, when the Bears went 10-7 and lost in the divisional round to the San Francisco 49ers, who were on their way to their fifth NFL championship, and began a career in sports media.
Waddle is currently an analyst for WLS-TV and the NFL Network and co-hosts the WMVP-AM show "Waddle and Silvy" with Marc Silverman.
Back in 2015, the Waddles sold their last Lake Forest home, an 8,100-square-foot Onwenstia Road home they had owned for the previous five years for $3.25 million to then-incoming Bears head coach John Fox.
The Waddles were represented by Mona Hellinga and Flor Hasselbring of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago. The buyers were represented by Lori Baker of Compass. The sale was first reported Tuesday by Crain's Chicago Business.
