2-Day Auction Will Feature More Than 450 Lots From Landmark Lake Forest Estate

An impressive two-day auction series is offering hundreds of items from Camp Rosemary, one of Lake Forest's most storied estates.

LAKE FOREST, IL — An upcoming two-day auction in Chicago will feature more than 450 objects from one of Lake Forest's most storied properties, the Camp Rosemary Estate.

The sales, on Dec. 10 and 12, celebrate the life and legacy of Posy Krehbiel and her beloved home. The eight-bedroom, nine-bathroom house was originally designed in 1904 by architect Benjamin H. Marshall, known for designing the Drake Hotel.

Its famed nine acres of gardens are known for their intricacy, with gorgeous outdoor "rooms," the"Betty Prior" rose arch and several themed gardens. The grounds were crafted and expanded by Krehbiel, who was known for being a passionate garden visionary.
