Advocate Illinois Masonic Welcomes First Babies to New Hospital Tower

New tower features fully private mother/baby suites

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center this week welcomed the first patients to its new hospital tower – some of them too young to even realize they are making history for the hospital.

Among the first patients were tiny newborns cradled in their parents’ arms. The babies ranged from the gleeful parents’ first to their fifth babies. One newborn was the third generation to be born at the hospital. During their first few days, their parents rocked and fed them to beautiful views of the city skyline or Wrigley Field from the brand new tower in the heart of Lakeview.

“This tower represents the future of health care on Chicago’s North Side for patients of all ages,” said Matt Primack, president of Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. “Our new mother/baby suites give families a calm, private space to bond, rest, and celebrate life’s sweetest moments. That commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care is evident throughout the hospital, in an environment that promotes healing and innovation.”
