Apartments to be Built at "Haven for Rodents"

A nine-story apartment building will soon be built at 434 W. Melrose Ave., according to an article by DNA Info. The city's Plan Commission approved the plans recently. The construction site — which has been called a "terrible haven for rodents and discarded furniture" according to the article — has been in building court for over a year. 

The apartment will feature 23 units and 26 covered parking spaces, with rent averaging between $3,000 and $5,000 per month, DNA Info states. The building does not yet have the proper building permits, and it must also be approved by the full City Council in the future.
