1. Two women were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday around 9 p.m. in the 800 block of West Wolfram Street. Chicago police said the suspects stole the victims’ cellphones and purses. (CBS2)
2. A second armed robbery was reported just 20 minutes later about a mile away, according to a CBS report. A 46-year-old man was approached by armed suspects in the 500 block of West Stratford Place. (CBS2)
3. The Lakeview Red-Purple Bypass will go into service on the Brown Line Friday. The new bypass will help Brown Line trains more efficiently pass the Red and Purple line tracks, according to the CTA. (Block Club)
4. A man was shot and injured on a ramp from I-55 to DuSable Lake Shore Drive early Thursday morning. Police said shots were fired around 3:30 a.m., after which the northbound lanes were closed for investigation. (ABC7)
5. Smylie Brothers Brewing Company is now “officially” open in Lakeview. The restaurant opened in September at 3827 N. Broadway, but did not promote its new location until it was fully staffed. (Block Club)
