Celebrate Halloween This Weekend in Lakeview

Why just celebrate on Oct. 31 when you can turn Halloween into a week-long affair? Check out our top picks of how to celebrate this weekend around Lakeview.

Halloween Hoopla: Nettelhorst Elementary School and the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce are hosting a Halloween Hoopla this Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Nettelhorst playground. Kids are invited to wear their Halloween costume, and there will be cookie decorating, hay rides, arts and crafts and much more. Trick-or-Treat and Pumpkin Party on Southport: Are you worried you won't get your fill of trick-or-treating on Halloween? Then stop by Southport this Sunday to trick-or-treat at businesses on Southport between Belmont to Irving. There will also be a pumpkin party, with games, activities and pumpkin decorating. Both parts of the event will run from 1 until 4 p.m. More information is available here.

Agassiz Elementary Annual Halloween Extravaganza: Everyone's invited to this Halloween extravaganza at Agassiz Elementary School on Saturday! The event, which will run from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., will feature games, mini-pumpkin and cookie decorating, hayrides, face painting, tattoos and a haunted house. 

Halloween Party at Sheil: People of all ages are invited to a community Halloween Party at Sheil Park this Sunday from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Games and treats will be available, and fall photos will be available for purchase from the School Street Advisory Council. Space Park Spooktacular: The fifth annual Space Park Spooktacular is set for Sunday from noon until 3 p.m. at 815 W. Roscoe. The event will feature crafts and activities aimed at the 12 years old and under crowd. There will also be activities, games and a costume contest. 

Spooky Zoo Spectacular: Join the Lincoln Park Zoo for a Spooky Zoo Spectacular this weekend. Guests are invited for a day of education, crafts, treats and entertainment. There will also be special toddler activities. The event is set for Sat., with family entertainment beginning at 11 a.m. and a haunted house, trick-or-treating and arts and crafts beginning at noon and ending at 2 p.m.
