Election 2012: Voter Registration Deadline is Oct. 9

Have you registered to vote yet? Here's a list of things you need to know in order to vote, including the office locations of Lake View's three aldermen.

Have you moved or changed your name recently? Then you need to update your voter registration. The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election is October 9.

Residents can register to vote:

  • At their alderman's office by bringing in two forms of identification; one form must show your current address.
  • At the Board of Election office located at 69 W. Washington, Suite 600, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • When you renew your driver's license or are visiting any state agency.
  • At the Chicago Board of Elections website by printing out a voter registration form to be filled out and mailed back to the Chicago Board of Elections.

While most Lake View residents reside in the 44th district under Alderman Tom Tunney, two other aldermanic districts cross into the Lake View neighborhood.

Alderman Tunney’s office is located at 1057 W. Belmont, while the 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman’s office is at 4544 N. Broadway, and 32nd Ward Alderman Scott Waguespack’s office is 2657 N. Clybourn Ave.
