New CVS Opens at Century Shopping Centre on Clark: PHOTOS

The new drugstore now sits where Express and Bath & Body Works once operated within the mall near Diversey Parkway.

After first being announced in November of 2011, the CVS Pharmacy on the ground floor of the Century Shopping Center on Clark Street is now open.

Before the national chain set up shop, two completely different stores operated the space, according to Chicago Racked. Both Bath & Body Works and a women’s Express clothing store closed in January so construction at CVS could begin. However, it won’t be an easy road ahead for the pharmacy giant.

Just across the street, Walgreens still plans to open a two story mega-Walgreens, while simultaneously shutting down the smaller Walgreens operating at the corner of North Broadway and Diversey Parkway. In addition, a new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market is slated to open early 2013 just next to that, despite neighbors’ lack of enthusiasm.

The new CVS Pharmacy at the mall is also just blocks away from two other CVS stores in Lake View, with one at the corner of North Broadway and Barry Avenue, and another at the corner of North Halsted and Clark streets.

However, with a new MinuteClinic, this location might see a bit more traffic.

We accept insurance and you don’t need an appointment. Just stop in when you need us.”
