1. Chicago Public Schools will shorten its quarantine requirement from 10 days to five beginning Feb. 1. The district is “not backing away” from its decision to no longer publish overall COVID-19 numbers, sticking to individual school data. (Chalkbeat/WBEZ)

2. More news from the classroom: Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced paid sick leave for vaccinated teachers and school staff who are forced to quarantine from positive cases or close contacts. 3. Lincoln Park Ald. Michele Smith’s office is responding to the North Side crime spike by launching a postcard campaign.
