Cubs Announce ‘Neighbors Day,’ Release Tentative 2013 Schedule

The Chicago Cubs will cap off 2012 with annual neighbors day celebration while simultaneously announcing who they'll play in 2013.

As the end of 2012 nears, the Chicago Cubs are already thanking Lake View neighbors and looking toward 2013.

For the 12th consecutive year, the Cubs are inviting Lake View residents to the “Wrigleyville Neighbors Day” at Wrigley Field to thank them for their ongoing support throughout the season. The team sent a community alert Sept. 21 asking neighbors to sign up for its lottery system by Sept. 25 to win tickets.

On Oct. 6, two groups of lucky Lake View residents will gain access to Wrigley for free food, refreshments and to play catch on the field. While the opportunity to sign up for the drawing has ended, each attendee is allowed to bring one guest to the party.

However, even though only a select number of residents can attend the Cubs’ neighborhood event, everyone can enjoy the upcoming season. The team already has released the 2013 schedule with its first game on Monday, April 1, playing the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
