1. A woman was assaulted by carjackers Saturday in the 900 block of West Belmont. A group of three approached her in her parked vehicle and attacked her when she refused to surrender her car. (CBS)
2. A group of people walking together in the 600 block of West Arlington were robbed at gunpoint Sunday. None of the five people were injured in the Lincoln Park incident. (CWB)
3. Thousands jammed into Wrigleyville bars this weekend for the annual TBOX Bar Crawl. Very few establishments were enforcing mask mandates during the event, according to Axios. Reporters who visited six bars on Saturday “didn’t spot a single indoor patron following the mandate.” (Axios)
4. The CDC approved booster shots for 16 year olds and 17 year olds late last week. "Initial data suggests that COVID-19 boosters help broaden and strengthen the protection against omicron and other variants," CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said. (Block Club)
5. A microphone used by Cubs announcer Jeremiah Paprocki is now in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He made history in May as the youngest announcer in Cubs history, and the team's first Black PA announcer ever. (Block Club)
