Homegrown Mistakes

Miscues plagued Chicago during its two-game homestand in this year's NLDS. The Cubs committed four errors Monday but still were able to pull out a scrappy win in Game 3.

They weren't so lucky in Game 4. Chicago collected two errors Wednesday, the biggest being a shortstop Addison Russell's mishandling of a grounder by first baseman Ryan Zimmerman that led to the Nationals' first run.

Before the series moved to Wrigley Field, the Cubs had only committed one error in the NLDS.

"Let's Play Two" Screenings

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is known for two big loves — music and the Cubs — and the new documentary "Let's Play Two" captures how they intersected last year. The film, directed by Danny Clinch, showcases Pearl Jam's two Wrigley Field performances during the Cubs' World Series-winning 2016 season, and it takes a look at the special relationship the band has built with the team, its ballpark and Vedder's hometown.

A special free screening of the documentary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Park at Wrigley outside the stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m., and space is limited. Reserved seating is available on the Park's website.

Can't make it to the outdoor showing? The Fox Sports cable network FS1 will air the documentary following Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Friday. First pitch for the game is at 7:08 p.m.

Duet Double Take

For Game 3, showbiz brothers Bill and Joel Murray led the Wrigley Field faithful in the traditional seventh-inning stretch sing-along. The Cubs went with another Hollywood duet in Game 4, giving the honor to Emmy Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss and "Parks and Recreation" star Nick Offerman, who grew up in Minooka.

Win-Or-Go-Home Record

On Thursday, the Cubs will play in their 10th postseason game in which they face elimination since 2003. Chicago has a 5-4 record in its previous nine do-or-die games. Last year, the team only faced elimination in the World Series, and the Cubs went 3-0 in those games.
