Family-Focused Network Hosts 'Boogie Down' Event Next Month
A local parents' network is taking over Cubby Bear for a day next month to host its "Wake Up & Boogie Down Family Festival", which has sold out for the past three consecutive years.
North Side families can soon warm up a winter Saturday morning with range of entertaining kid-centric activities and music; as the Neighborhood Parents Network of Chicago presents its 5th Annual Wake Up & Boogie Down Family Festival.
The event, which has sold out for the past three years, is slated this year for March 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cubby Bear, 1059 W. Addison St. in Lake View. Those interested can throw their hat in to win four tickets from Patch.

The Neighborhood Parents Network has been connecting a diverse community of families in Chicago with resources to navigate parenting for more than 30 years. Expectant, new, and seasoned parents come to NPN to help tackle everyday challenges and surprises.
Whether online or in person, NPN's mission is to make it easy to find support, essential information and entertaining city events. The network includes more than 6,400 families, businesses, nonprofit organizations and schools, according to its website.

Activities for all ages include:
- Live musical performances by The DreamTree Shakers, All About Dance, and Bubbles Academy.
- Healthy snacks for parents and kids courtesy of GoGoSqueeZ, Happy Baby Foods, Lettuce Entertain You,Lifeway Kefir, Metropolis Coffee, Pirate’s Booty and Uncle Sammy’s.
- Engaging activities with Harvest Moon Farms, Language Stars, Rock Candy Salon, and Suzuki School.
- Special “tot activities zone” with The Little Gym of Chicago
- Rock ’n’ roll makeovers, arts & crafts, and games.
- Giveaways for the whole family.

Please bring your gently used shoes to benefit Big Hearts, Little Shoes, an initiative in conjunction with The Little Gym to provide children’s shoes to families in need around the globe.
Tickets to the event can be purchased online. They are $25 for adults ($20 for NPN members), $15 for children ($10 for NPN members) and $65 for a family four-pack ($50, if you're part of the NPN). Those who are 1 year old and younger are admitted free of charge.
