1. A man died Wednesday after falling from a CTA platform in Logan Square. He was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was taken in critical condition after the 30-foot fall from the platform to the street. (Patch)
2. Some retail stores in Chicago are lowering their inventory after a series of brazen smash-and-grab robberies on Michigan Avenue and in suburban Oak Brook. Police have increased patrols and security measures to deter theft during the holiday shopping season. (NBC)
