Health Center Moves to Boystown, Changes Name
The Triad Health Practice is now Aris Health, a medical facility focused on the LGBT community. The new space will open on North Halsted in March.
A familiar health center focused on care for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community will soon open in the heart of Boystown, and this time with a new name.
Triad Health Practice, currently housed at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, will soon be rebranded as Aris Health, a more than 4,000-square-foot facility at 3245 N. Halsted St. Formerly occupied by Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, the new space is slated to open March 25.
Aris Health is owned by Howard Brown Health Center, one of the nation’s largest health care and research organizations serving the LGBT community. Howard Brown also owns the currently disjointed and somewhat controversial Broadway Youth Center.

Howard Brown’s Senior Director of Communications Alonzo Brown says, while he can't disclose any details about the future site of the BYC, he can confirm the team is on track to find a new space by May 1.
The new Boystown clinic location might help Howard Brown meet its goal of more than doubling its 2,000 clients to 5,000, Chicago Phoenix writes. The space reportedly has room to serve upwards of 10,000 people, about the same amount served at the organization’s clinic near Irving Park and Sheridan roads.

“We are excited about opening Aris Health in the heart of the community to serve patients in an environment completely focused on their care,” said Karma Israelsen, interim president and CEO of the Howard Brown Health Center. “… We added pediatrics as part of our core practice offering last year to serve our patients’ children; Aris Health and the expanded space allows us to fulfill this need.”
Along with adding pediatric care, the space will have nine exam rooms and a Walgreens pharmacy on-site. And unlike the youth center, Brown says the health clinic isn’t raising any red flags with neighbors.
“This facility will just provide the same model of health care regardless of insurance,” Brown said. “We don’t turn anyone away.”
Aris Health will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 25 at 8 a.m.
