Lakeview Residents to Perform at Free Concert May 12

CHICAGO: Lakeview residents Kim Jones and Paul Dykstra will be one-half of the upcoming Mother's Day Concert on Sunday, May 12 at 12:00 PM.

CHICAGO: Lakeview residents Kim Jones and Paul Dykstra will be one-half of the upcoming Mother’s Day Concert on Sunday, May 12 at 12:00 PM.

Kim Jones, one-third of the soprano trio Très Belle, and Paul Dykstra, the accompanying pianist, will be performing a selection of music celebrating mothering and motherhood in their many forms, with a focus on operatic and showtune styles!
The family-friendly concert takes place on Sunday, May 12 at noon at Concordia Church: 3855 N. Seeley Ave., Chicago. Tickets are not required, but an rsvp through Concordia’s website is encouraged.

The Très Belle soprano trio consists of sopranos Kimberly Jones, Marisa Buchheit, and Kirsten Leslie. The long-time friends are active solo performers who successfully debuted as a trio in January 2014 and have performed on the classical music scene throughout the Midwest ever since. They have taken their talents to venues such as PianoForte Chicago, the Sunday Salon Series of the Chicago Cultural Center, the Ravinia Music Festival, and more. On May 12, they can add this special Mother’s Day concert at Concordia Church to that list!

Kim Jones is an alum of the Ryan Opera Center with the prestigious Lyric Opera of Chicago. She has performed around the world in places such as Milan, Paris, and Tokyo captivating audiences all around. She also has been nominated for various awards and grants for her inspiring performances. Jones is also on the voice faculty at Roosevelt University and DePaul University. As highlighted in Opera's Now magazine's "Who's Hot in Opera," Jones is one to watch. On May 12, audiences will have the opportunity to do just that at Concordia Church.

Paul Dykstra supports choral and keyboard activities at Concordia Lutheran Church, Foster Avenue Baptist Church, Northwest Fellowship Baptist Church and Temple Jeremiah of Northfield and Temple Sholom of Chicago for more than 40 years. A collaborative pianist, he will be accompanying the Très Belle trio in this special Mother’s Day Concert at Concordia Church on May 12.
