Laugh Factory Serves More than 400 Thanksgiving Meals

More than 400 Thanksgiving meals were served up at the Laugh Factory Thursday as a part of the comedy club’s annual tradition to give back to the community.

For the past 32 years, the Laugh Factory has been hosting free Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for those in the Hollywood area who are needy, lonely or simply away from home. As part of its introduction to Chicago, the club’s founding owner Jamie Masada announced the tradition should continue here. 

"Spending the holidays alone is no laughing matter," has become Jamie Masada's yearly mantra. "We welcome anyone to take a seat at our table, and celebrate with our family of comedians and friends.”

Joined by Los Angeles comedian Paul Rodriguez, the Laugh Factory crew dished up a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings at two different times on Thanksgiving. Each meal, paid for by Laugh Factory founder Jamie Masada, was followed by a live comedy show.

Panera Cares donated the food, while employees of Chicago’s Catering by Michael gave their time to prepare the feast.
